Romelu Lukaku launches cologne brand

Football, by its very nature, is fleeting and short-lived, That means that those employed to play football must often find another avenue of income, hence there are quite a number of current and ex-footballers who have an interest in different businesses, Romelu Lukaku today joined the team launching his own fragrance.

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has launched his own cologne brand, two days after he was criticized for his performance against Chelsea on Sunday, where he was caught offside multiple times and was branded ‘unfit’ by former United defender Gary Neville.

Lukaku revealed he has released a new aftershave today on his social media accounts.

Lukaku wrote on Twitter: ‘Excited to share that starting today, you can visit an Abercrombie store in London, Manchester, or Brussels to get my limited edition bottle of Fierce cologne before anyone else. Very limited quantities.’

The timing of the announcement, coming two days after his poor performance and amid United struggling to finish in the Premier League top four, drew the ire of some United supporters on Twitter.

He joins teammate, Jesse Lingard, who has his own fashion label ‘JLINGZ’ in the fashion business.

Meanwhile looking past his own criticism, Lukaku believes the memories of David De Gea’s bleak beginning, and how he recovered from it, will be the foundation for him to regain his form after Sunday’s game against Chelsea “David is a really positive person.

He has the been the best player at the club for seven or eight years consistently. I don’t think we should discredit him and suddenly say he is a bad goalkeeper”.

The 25-year-old has scored 15 times this season for United, but his inconsistency has frustrated fans – along with his recent suggestions he would be open to leaving the club. He recently said it would be a ‘dream’ to play in Serie A.
