Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday won the UEFA Goal of the Season with the overhead kick goal for Real Madrid against Juventus.
Portugal’s “bicycle” goal for Real Madrid’s quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League where they won 3-0 against his current club Juventus, got 197,496 votes, beating the second-best goal from France’s Dimitri Payet in Marseille’s UEFA Europa League defeat of RB Leipzig with 35,558 votes.
Spain’s Eva Navarro, with a goal against Germany, in the Women’s U17 EURO final, was in third place, with 23,315 votes.
Ronaldo won this title for the first time, right after his teammate in Juventus from Croatia, Mario Mandzukic, and Lionel Messi’s (FC Barcelona) turn in 2015 and 2016.
Besides Ronaldo, there were other nominees from Portugal, like Ricardinho in the (UEFA Futsal EURO group stage against Romania, Gonçalo Ramos in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship group stage against Slovenia and Paulo Estrela in UEFA Youth League group stage against Besiktas.
