Samuel Eto’o urges Mo Salah to dump Liverpool for Barcelona

Samuel Eto’o Fils is backing Barcelona to sign Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah who is currently playing in the Africa Cup of Nations, where Egypt kicked the tournament off with a 1-0 victory against Zimbabwe.

And while we’re all watching the Reds kick up a storm in international friendlies, Samuel Eto’o has decided to add to our general summer tension by suggesting that Mohamed Salah might not be a perfect fit for Real Madrid—the club he’s been linked to by filthy rumours for the past month.

That’s because, per Eto’o, Barcelona would suit him better.

“Barcelona would be a better fit,” Samuel Eto’o said in an effort to destroy the hearts of a million Liverpool fans. ”Real gave me the opportunity to leave Africa but I know Barcelona’s style and I think it would be better for him.”

“If he has the chance to play in the best league of the world, which is the Spanish one, he has to sign for Barcelona.

”Mo has everything to be one of the best players in the world.”

These are all definitely opinions from the former Barcelona, Chelsea, and Everton player. And a player with the talent and skills of Mo Salah is almost definitely the top of the transfer priority list for clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona, especially after the stellar season he just had at Liverpool.

But the idea that Liverpool is a stepping off point to bigger and better clubs also completely discounts what Klopp is building at Liverpool and how clear it is that Salah wants to remain a critical part of it.

And besides, the Champions League trophy is sitting at Anfield, not at Camp Nou.

So yeah, Salah definitely has everything to be one of the best players in the world but he’s already at a club where that can become a reality.
