Shake up in Navy, new FOC, others appointed

There is a major shakeup in Nigerian Navy with the appointment of a new Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), for the Western Naval Command, and 32 other appointees to head the units and formation of the service across the country.
Under the new arrangement, Rear Admiral Daji is now the new FOC, Western Naval Command; While Rear Admiral Begroy Enyinna Ibe-Enwo is the new chief of policy.
The Director, Naval Information, Commodore Suleiman Dahun, made this known a statement.


Dahun in the statement said: “The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas has approved a major re-organisation of the upper echelons of the Nigerian Navy. In a major posting of senior officers, 32 Rear Admirals were affected. The new chief of policy and plans, Naval Headquarters, is Rear Admiral Begroy Enyinna Ibe-Enwo, while Rear Admiral Apochi Suleiman, formerly Commander Joint Task Force Operation DELTA SAFE, moves to Defence Headquarters as Chief of Defence Administration. Rear Admiral Tariworio Dick, formerly Deputy Commandant, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, has been appointed Chief of Training and Operations, Naval Headquarters, while Rear Admiral Obi Ofodile has been appointed Director of Plans, Defence Headquarters.


“Furthermore, Rear Admiral Ifeola Mohammed, former Chief of Naval Standards and Safety, is the new Chief of Naval Transformation, Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Akinjide Akinrinade, former Director of Training, Defence Headquarters, has been appointed Commander, Joint Task Force Operation DELTA SAFE. Rear Admiral Matthew Emuekpere, former Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters, moves to Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, as Deputy Commandant.

Rear Admiral Tanko Dakwat, former Director of Development, Defence Headquarters, moves to Naval Headquarters, as Chief of Naval Standards and Safety, while Rear Admiral Saleh Usman is the new Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Ahamefule Eluwa, former moderator at National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, resumes at Defence Headquarters as Director of Project Monitoring.”
