Shorunmu urge Eagles coach Rohr to keep his players selection open

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmu has called on coach of Nigeria’s senior national team Gernot Rohr to keep his selection of players for national team duty open enough for players to see that no one has a guaranteed role in the team to build the team’s competitive edge.
Shorunmu speaking in a chat with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid opening the selection will do more good for the team and help ensure that players have a mind with focus and determination to continually want to convince the coach on why they should be handed a role and not just keeping a role for certain players.
“He should let it open because this shouldn’t be made permanent for them and they will not be over relaxed that any time I go for the national team, I will be included in the team.
“He needs to make it competitive, I mean no player is to overpower the team, if he is doing it well, fine back such player and if otherwise someone else should be made to tame his place.”
