The Sierra Leone FA is monitoring the reported case of Coronavirus in Nigeria and could ask CAF for a postponement of the 2021 AFCON qualifying match in Asaba or have the game played behind closed doors should the need arise.
Nigeria is scheduled to host Sierra Leone in the first-leg of the double header of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers later this Month.
However, the novel Coronavirus outbreak across the globe which has prompted governments to take precautions to contain the spread by shutting out fans from Sports Arenas or cancelling events completely, is a concern for the Sierra Leone FA.
According to Kemoh Sesay, a Member of the SFA Media Committee, the Body is “seriously monitoring” the situation in Nigeria.
“We are monitoring the situation of Coronavirus in Nigeria,” Sesay told brila.net.
“If we have any real concern we will seek advice form the organizers. We are really monitoring the situation in Nigeria.”
