Moses Simon was in action for Nantes who suffered a 4-0 home defeat to Strasbourg in Sunday’s Ligue 1 encounter.
Simon was handed his first start since his return from a muscle thigh strain which kept him out of action for four weeks.
The Nigeria international was impressive at the Stade de la Beaujoire but his effort could not prevent his side from registering their sixth loss of the campaign.
Strasbourg went in front through Dimitri Lienard’s 16th-minute penalty while Senegalese international Habibou Mouhamadou Diallo doubled their lead in the 34th minute.
Ludovic Ajorque added the third for the visitors in the 78th minute as Kevin Zohi completed the rout with his 83rd-minute effort.
Simon saw 82 minutes of action, struck two shots, made 42 touches on the ball and recorded 84 percent successful pass rate.
The 25-year-old who has netted once in ten league appearances for the Canaries this term, will hope to help his team return to winning ways when they take on Dijon in their next league encounter on December 13.
