Simy Nwankwo set for Belgian adventure

Cornerstonenewsng.comhas gathered that Nigerian international striker Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo who is currently employed by Italian Serie B outfit Crotone has agreed to terms with Belgian Jupiler League side Sporting Club Lokeren.

‘Simy’ Nwankwo, 26, who featured at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia last summer, is already billed to join the club based in the province of East Flanders in their training camp in Spain ahead of the start of the second round of the Belgian top flight.

The striker from Nanka in Anambra State who was once the leading goal scorer in the Anambra State FA Cup, also displayed his killer form in front of goal, scoring crucial goals for Crotone including a wonderful bicycle kick in the 1-1 draw against Juventus in their ill-fated Serie A campaign as the Calabria outfit failed to stay up in the Italian top flight.

This season, the big striker has starred in 20 games in all competitions, finding the net four times with all the goals coming in the league, as Crotone are sitting deep in the relegation zone and are currently 18th in the 19-team second division.
