Super Eagles forward Simmy Tochukwu Nwankwo was on target for his Italian Serie B side Crotone as they surrendered a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to Ascoli at Stadio Cino e Lillo Del Duca on Sunday.
Nwankwo who has struggled for playing time this season started for the second straight game and he grabbed the chance as he put his ahead with nine minute into the game.
Marco Firenze added the second five minutes later before Riccardo Brosco reduced the deficit for the home side on the stroke of half-time.
Crotono surrendered their lead as Giacomo Barretta equalised with two minutes into ninety minutes and with additional six minutes still left to play, Someone Andreas Ganz scored twice to give the home side the victory.
Having lost six of their last seven games in the division, Crotone are 18th on the log with 13 points.
