Manchester United bounced back from last Sunday’s shock home defeat against West Bromwich Albion by beating Bournemouth 2-0 in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday.
Chris Smalling and Romelu Lukaku got both goals for the Red Devils.
Jose Mourinho’s men opened scoring through centre-back Smaling a minute before the half hour mark.
Ander Herrera played a fine through-ball for Jesse Lingard to square for Smalling, who had the simple task of helping the ball over the line from a few yards out.
The England international has now scored two goals in his last three games for the Red Devils.
Substitute Lukaku made the points save with a fine finish in the 71st minute for his 16th league goal of the season.
French midfielder Paul Pogba slipped through the ball and the Belgian striker clipped it over Asmir Begovic.
The win left United in second place, four points ahead of third-placed Liverpool.
