Solanke rues injury plagued world junior table tennis championship

Africa number one Junior Table tennis player Azeez Solanke has rued the injury that truncated his dream of winning or playing at the knock out stages of the just concluding World Junior Table tennis championship in Thailand over the weekend.

Solanke speaking in a chat with brila.net said it was really very painful to have been knocked out of a tournament after been injured which ruled him out of playing the final group game after losing one and winning one of the opening two games which would have earned him a qualification to the round of 16 and possibly further progression from there.
“It was very painful because I had the chance to win the game which would have earned me the chance to qualify for the round of 16. Because even though the competition was very difficult but at least if I had qualified to the round of 16, at that point, it wasn’t sure for anybody to win and I would have been in with a chance to win as well because anybody can win anyone.”
