Solomon Dalung Dropped From Ministerial List

It is now authoritative that the last Nigeria minister of sports, Solomon Dalung will not be returning as the country’s minister of Youth and Sports.

On Tuesday morning, President Muhammadu Buhari forwarded a 43-man list of ministers to the senate for screening and Dalung’s name was conspicuously missing when the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan read the names at plenary.

The 54-year-old Dalung was involved in one too many clashes with the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation.

The crises ranged from NFF leadership tussle, allegations of stolen money, it was just crisis every time.

This ministerial list now puts to bed rumours that Dalung would return to the post owing to the fact that he was among the 11-man federal government delegation that offered support to the Super Eagles at the last Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

President Buhari will possibly in two weeks name Dalung’s replacement when the portfolio is announced.
