Enyimba goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai has stated that he feel honoured to have been included in the Super Eagles AFCON 2019 provisional list of players despite still been placed on the standby list of national team invitation.
Afelokhai speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the invitation for him is pleasing but beyond just invitation, he desires been given a chance to showcase himself so as to be fully seen in the national team and promise to make good use of such opportunity is given.
“I thank God because we have a lot of goalkeepers in Nigeria, great goalkeepers and they are much in this country so to find myself in the list, I just need to thank God.
“I know it’s not easy and just all I want is just opportunity to show myself and that’s what I’m waiting for. I know when the chance comes, by God grace I will do it well.”
Afelokhai joins Bryan Idowu, Ikouwem Utin, Mikel Agu, Valentine Ozornwafor and Junior Ajayi on the standby list.
