Super Eagles and former Torino Midfielder Joel Obi has gotten a new Manager in the person of Gian Piero Ventura at Serie A Club Chievo.
The announcement comes directly from the Twitter account of the Gialloblù company, which announced the engagement of the former coach of the Italian National team.
As Italy Manager, Ventura missed the qualification for Russia 2018 after the Playoff with Sweden.
The 70-year-old coach, who has coached Bari and Torino in Serie A before becoming the coach, takes the place of Lorenzo D’Anna, exonerated Tuesday morning after six defeats in eight league games.
Chievo’s only points have come from two draws and the squad has minus-1 point after being deducted three points last month for false accounting.
Ventura has also coached Sampdoria, Udinese, Cagliari, Napoli, Hellas Verona, Pisa, Bari and Torino.
