Suspected gunmen kill FUTA don

Authorities of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Ondo State yesterday confirmed the killing of one of its deputy registrar, Dr Amos Arijesuyo by unknown gunmen.

The deceased was reportedly shot dead at Iwaraja, a community located along Ilesa- Akure expressway in Osun State on Saturday evening.

Arijesuyo who worked at the Guidance and Counselling section of the Students Affairs Department of the union was said to have been attacked alongside his driver and one other unidentified person.

It was gathered that the deceased was also a Senior Pastor at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Glory of God, FUTA Akure.

A pastor of the church, Pastor Olu Aladesanmi who confirmed the incident said it happened between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday.

The head of Media and Protocols of the university, Mr Adegbenro Adebanjo said the deceased was confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to by some good Samaritans.

He hinted that the matter has been reported to the state police command and the Osun State Police command for necessary synergy to ensure that justice is done on the matter.
