Table Tennis: Ganiyat Quadri shines in Barros CTM win

Aruna Ganiyat was instrumental in her team home(Barros CTM) win over U. Sebastianense in the Portuguese division two table tennis championship played on Sunday.

Barros CTM won the game  4-1 , with Ganiyat at the center of the win as she  won the her team second game, beating her opponent 3-0, 3-0.

 

The Sunday victory makes it two wins in two games for Barros TCM , who also defeated CTM Miranda 3-2 in the season opening game, with Ganiyat also stars in the game with two wins in two games she played for her team.

 

However , Ganiyat who is staging a  return to active table tennis again after almost three years on the sideline told Cornerstonenewsng.comshe’s happy to be back again.

 

” I feel So great with the win today and happy with the way I’m playing because I stopped playing professional league about three years ago because of my kids but Now am back fully, and I’m getting back to  my best”.

 

The Lisbon based female tennis star stressed further that her aim is to earn a call up into Nigeria table tennis team come next year .

“Am working hard to return to national team and I put all hope in God .”

 

She concluded by reacting to her partner’s (Aruna Quadri) first round elimination from World table tennis championship held in Paris earlier this month, saying she felt bad by the outcome of the tournament.

 

“Yes I think that’s sports for us, you win some and lose some, Though i felt so bad after losing that match to Simon gauzy but there’s nothing we can do than to accept defeat and work more on our mistakes

“He didn’t played so bad, he fought from beginning till the end but it wasn’t meant to be” she concluded.
