“The leagues that are resuming are far better than NPFL”, Tamara on early NPFL restart

Lobi Stars of Makurdi midfielder Tamara Ezekiel has advised the Nigeria professional football league organisers not to make quick decisions on the league resumption.

The 2019/2020 campaign was suspended immediately after match day 25 in order to curb the widespread of the coronavirus which also affected major league across in Europe.

 

While the German Bundesliga has returned, the Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga and English Premier league are looking at the possibility of returning sometimes in June.

 

Many people have now suggested that League Management Company could follow the footsteps of these major league and design a way out for the remaining 13 matches to be played.

 

In his reaction to the suggestion, Ezekiel said the players are missing their job, but believe it’s unwise for the league to return with the current situation in the country.

 

The leagues that are resuming are far better than our league in every areas of football.”

 

We can’t compare it. So we should not complicate issues for the growth of the league, I really miss the game and the fans but we should do what is Necessary” he told www.brila.net.

 

On if the remaining matches should be played behind closed door, the Lagos State born midfielder has this to say;

 

Playing behind closed doors sometimes is difficult, because thefans are our motivation without them it could be complicated and won’t bring out a good performance from the players.”. He told www.brila.net.
