Tiger Woods’ incredible win at the Masters has left Rafael Nadal very emotional

From one sports star to another, Rafael Nadal has declared admiration for his ‘favourite sportsman’- Tiger Woods while revealing that Tiger Woods’ victory at the Masters in Augusta left him ‘very emotional’.

Rafael Nadal referred to as the ‘king of clay’ is currently hard at work for the start of the clay-court season in Monte Carlo but made time in his preparations to watch Woods seal an incredible win to bring to an end his 11-year major drought.

Nadal is a keen golf fan and was inside the ropes in the Bahamas in 2017 when Woods made a return from back injury to complete the Hero World Challenge.

Nadal has been plagued by issues with his knee during his tennis career to date and revealed ahead of his opening match at the Monte Carlo Masters that Woods’ revival left him emotional. Something he would use as inspiration as he looks to bid for a twelfth French Open title.

‘It is amazing. He is probably my favourite sportsman in the world since a long time ago, I know a little bit (on) how hard he has worked to be back.

You imagine all the process and the hard work he had to do to be back on a golf course. It is so difficult, all the things that he did.”

Nadal’s passion for golf saw him participate in the Balearic Islands Golf Championship for over-30 players earlier this year and he finished as runner-up.
