TIGER WOODS TO SET THE BAR HIGHER IN 2019

“Expectations are much different this year (2019), it’s just about managing and making sure I’m fresh for events because I know I can win tournaments again.” – Tiger Woods.

Eldrick Tont “Tiger” Woods (born December 30, 1975) is an American professional golfer who is among the most successful golfers of all time, and one of the most popular athletes of the 21st century.

Tiger Woods turned professional at the end of summer in 1996, by the end of April 1997 he had won three PGA Tour events in addition to his first major and with less than a year after turning pro he first reached the number one position in the world rankings.

Throughout the 2000s, Woods was the dominant force in golf, but in December 2009 to early April 2010 he took a self-imposed break to resolve marital issues, this coincided with a series of injuries and a loss of golf form.

Woods had been unable to recapture his dominant form, undergoing four back surgeries in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

In May 2016, Woods dropped out of the world top 500 for the first time in his professional career. After falling to 1,199 in the World Golf Ranking in 2017.

In January 2018, Tiger Woods returned to PGA Tour action with everyone terrified that his back would go again, Woods rose over 1000 places by mid-2018.

At 43, In September 2018, he won his first tournament in five years with a victory at the Tour Championship and moved to No.13 in the Official World Golf Rankings, a spot he still holds as of 4th February 2019.

After his win in Atlanta, Woods has the scent of victory once more on the PGA Tour. The picture has improved so dramatically that his presence brings a sense of eager anticipation rather than anxiety while chasing Sam Snead’s all-time record total of 82, which he won nearly at 53.

No player has ever held golf’s No. 1 ranking at the age of 43,but as people ponder about the possibility of woods regaining the No. 1 spot, just a year after being lowly ranked 1,199th, Woods says he so appreciative of having the opportunity to come back and play again and plans to set the bar even higher for 2019.
