To compete for 2021 AFCON title, Eagles have work to do, says Sodje

Former Super Eagles defender Sam Sodje has submitted that the senior national team, the Super Eagles, have got a lot of work to do to get back to their very best after their exploits at the Egypt 2019 AFCON, where they were only able to pick up a bronze medal for all their efforts.

The Eagles made it to the semi-finals where they were defeated by Algeria 2-1, before going on to defeat Tunisia in the losers final and win bronze.

Despite that, Sodje, while speaking with www.brila.net, called in the NFF to go back to the drawing board to see how they can improve the team, as there is a lot of work that needs to be done in order to take the Eagles back to top-level once again.

“We have got a lot of work to do, we should go back to the drawing board and see how we can better ourselves because it’s not good enough”.

“We fell short and hopefully we can learn from this and am sure we have good players that can take us forward, but again, going forward, I think we have more work to do”.
