The Lagos State Commissioner of Police ,CP Hakeem Odumosu has released 20 motorcycles to the State Traffic Division (STD) ,to fight traffic .
The Motorcycles were part of items recently injected in to the Force by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund ( (LSSTF).
CP Odumosu while handing the Motorcycles to the officer in charge of STD ,CSP Titilayo Oriyomi Ilesanmi, advised that she should monitor her men so as to use the Motorcycles judiciously .
CSP Ilesanmi ,who was described as a workaholics ,promised to clear the State of gridlock.
Odumosu had declared a state of emergency on traffic and changed the strategy in traffic control .
The efforts of the CP and Oriyomi as she is fondly called have paid off as traffic is disappearing gradually ,except for area with bad roads.
According to a police source who spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not supposed to speak to the press ,Said :” Since Odumosu took over as the CP, we in the traffic section have not been sleeping. We resume as early as 5am and close by 12 am.Our Madam, Oriyomi is always monitoring us and the CP also will be on the radio monitoring us .The good thing is that we are doing the job perfectly.
Traffic is flowing ,it will soon be a thing of the past .We are tackling the traffic issue .The only area we can not do anything are area where the roads are terribly bad. Where the road is bad ,it is left to the government to fix the roads”
