Truck kills woman on her way to church in Lagos

A woman who was going to the church has been crushed to death by a truck driver at the  Abati Barracks area of Ojuelegba, Lagos.
  Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, said that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary, Yaba.
  According to Elkana, “Today around 12.10pm along Western Avenue opposite Abalti Barracks, there was a fatal motor accident involving a Mecedez truck with registration number SMK 356 XC driven by one Seyi Olayiwola who rammed into  Amaka Iheme of No 18, Banjo Street off Tejuosho Surulere, who was trekking to the church. 


  “The woman died on the spot. The driver has been arrested and  the vehicle has been impounded .y The body has been deposited at the Mainland General hospital mortuary, Yaba.
  A Nigerians who reacted to the incident blamed government for not implementing Lagos State laws on night movement of trucks.
  According to a man who wants to remain anonymous, “There was a law in Lagos that these trucks should move only at night. What is Federal Road Safety Corp and LASTMA doing to implement those laws.”
