FC Slutsk of Belarus defender, Aliyu Abubakar has explained that it is tougher for defenders to make it big in Europe than attackers and midfielders.
The 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner told Cornerstonenewsng.comthat for a defender to be rated high enough for big deals, such a player must have very great statistics and be very consistent at the top level.
“For a defender, it is hard to making moves because it is majorly about the stats and so one has to be consistent and keep a clean sheet. When it comes to moving, It is not easy as striker have it.
Personally,I have tried to keep the consistency high up there because once your form drops, it might be hard to get back to the top as someone is around the corner to take over.”
