Ujomu requires N11 million for urgent kidney transplant

Ujomu Chukwueweniwe, 43, has since 2016 been held captive by the pains, anguish, and trauma of kidney disease, which is slowly taking him close to his grave.

Chukwueweniwe like he is fondly called, who hails from Umuolo, Onicha-Ugbo, Aniocha North Local Council Area of Delta State has for nearly four years dealt with kidney failure with his aged mother catering for him, as he is now bloated with tiny and skinny weak soul, barely able to walk normally.

He undergoes dialysis two times in a week at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Asaba, Delta State, which costs N60, 000 per session and according to the doctors, Chukwueweniwe needs to undergo urgent kidney transplant, which costs N11 million for him to survive the health challenge.

Narrating his ordeal, Chukwueweniwe said:

“I have been suffering from kidney failure since 2016. I have been going for dialysis two times in a week at the Federal Medical Center in Asaba. Please my brothers and sisters, I need your help. It has been hard for my mother and me to find money to pay for dialysis at nearly N60, 000 per session, two times a week, just to sustain me.”

Chukwueweniwe, while appealing to the public to save him, said: “I am no longer able to work. The disease has taken the best part of my youth and my mother is aging at every sunrise. My dad is late.  I need help. Please, whatever you have would help save my life. No amount is too small to help me, I am desperate. I do not wish for my mother to bury me. I want to bury her with dignity at the end of her glory. But I need to be healthy.
