VAR denies Isaac, but Udinese sees success against Fiorentina

Substitute Isaac Success had his goal chalked off by VAR for offside, and denied his first Serie A goal in six games, but he’d celebrate because Udinese beat Fiorentina 1-0, Thursday night, in the Serie A.

Success was a second half substitute and not for the first time this season as Manager Andrea Sottil now trusts the Nigerian coming off the bench as an impact sub.

Also, Success has had a worrisome injury history causing him to miss most parts of the season, through lengthy spells on the treatment table, bench the game time management, to ensure the Winger stays fresh and minimize recurring injuries.

On the night though, his contributions was more off the ball and what would have been a shining moment was dimmed by the intervention of VAR.

A stoppage time goal in the second half could have doubled the lead for Udinese at the Dacia Arena after Gerard Deulofeu (assist) and Beto (scorer) combined to give the hosts a 17th minute lead.

Isaac Success was denied a second goal in the campaign – following his goal in the Coppa Italia.

Meanwhile, summer recruit, Kingsley Ehizibue was also brought on for the final ten minutes of the game, for his debut.

The Bianconeri will welcome table toppers, AS Roma to the Dacia Arena this weekend, in their next fixture.
