Former Super Eagles defender, Pastor Taribo West has expressed his confidence in the present crop of Eagles players as they get set to find out who they will be up against when the 2019 AFCON draws are held 10 days from now.
The Eagles are in pot 2 and are looking to get a favourable draw after qualifying for this year’s edition following their absence in the last two previous editions.
In a chat with www.brila.net, the former Inter Milan and AC Milan of Italy defense trojan stated that he was happy with the quality of play in their last matches during the international break, especially against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
“I can confidently say I have the belief in the team at the moment, a lot of young and hungry players, mixed with the experienced ones”, he began.
” I also want to add that I am particularly happy with their last friendly against Egypt, I saw a good side capable of winning any team on the continent”
” Gernot Rohr is also inviting players into the team to give them a chance as well as select the best for the tournament”
“With what we have on ground at the moment, I can confidently say that we have a good team and I think they will make us proud”.
