Residents of Ibusa in Oshimili Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State, are still in shock over the tragedy that befell one of their sons, whose twins were butchered in a most horrific manner for rituals.

The seven-year-old twins were lured into the bush by their 18-year-old first cousin, Nwaolisa Kelvin Uzor and two others where they were slaughtered and their body parts are taken away for money-making rituals.
The father of the twins, Oliseh Agwunobi, had on March 6, reported to the Police that his children, twins, Chiagozie and Chidalu Agwunobi, were missing. He pointed an accusing finger at one of his relatives, Onuwa Ajie Oliseh, who was last seen with the children.

Two days after the kids were declared missing, their mutilated bodies were found in the bush with their eyes, tongues, hands and private parts were taken by their killers.
The Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Led by DCP Abba Kari was contacted and detectives swung into action and through cutting edge technology, picked one of the suspects at Aguleri in Anambra State.

The bodies were deposited in the General Hospital morgue where they were later retrieved for burial.

The bubbles bust when a primary four pupil, Iweka Olisah, told how he was initially contacted by his brother, Onuwa Ajei Oliseh, who is one of the two suspects at large, to assist him to lure the twins out from the school.
Iweka said: “On March 5, at about 6:30 am, my elder brother Onuwa, asked me if I would go to school. I told him that I would go and he asked if I could help him to lure the twins out from the school before closing time. I told him that it was not possible as the teacher would not allow it. That same day when I came back from the school, I saw my brother Onuwa placed a Well sharpened machete on the table where he was eating. I later saw him moved to the twins’ house because we all lived in the same compound. It was later that same night that I started hearing that the children were missing.

“ Later that night, Onuwa came back home with his hands stained with blood. He then asked me to pour water on his hands as he washed his cutlass. I knew that my brother had hands in the killing”.

After committing the dastardly act, Onuwa allegedly went to the house of Uzor and both of them traveled to Anambra.
Agwunobi Oliseh, 52, father of the twins who took the narratives, said: “On March 6, before my children left for school, Onuwa Ajie Oliseh, came to my house and inquired if my children would go to school and he was told that they would go. Later we heard Onuwa telling his younger brother, Iweka to help him lure the twins from their school that he wanted to take them somewhere.

The school authority also told us that later that day, he came to the school trying to take them but he was chased away by the teachers. He waited for them at home and as soon as they came back, he came to the house and asked them to follow him to the stream. I believe that it was while they were on the way that he used the cutlass and killed them.

“It was when I came back later in the day with my wife and I realized that the twins were missing. While I was running around, searching for my children, Iweka, the little brother of Onuwa, told me that it was his brother that took my children. Onawa seeing that the cat has been let out of the bag, he ran away, but we were able to pick Uzor who told us where the bodies were dumped. We went to the scene and found their mutilated bodies with eyes, tongue, private parts and hands removed. I am still in shock, because I find it hard to believe that it was Onuwa and Uzor that planned the murder of their cousin. Both are children of my blood brothers .”

Uzor who is in the police net said though he was not involved in the killing, but admitted that he knew that Onuwa, who is now at large, wanted to use the twins for money-making rituals: “ I am a farmer, life is very hard as a farmer and normally after the day’s work, we the young men will gather to play ball and discuss ways to better our lives. So many young men who are into Yahoo Yahoo ( Internet fraud)are doing very well in my village. Since I am not educated enough, I knew that was not an option for me.

“One of such days that we were hanging out, one of my friends, Chukwudi Ogbunaigwe, suggested that another way of making quick money was through rituals. He was so desperate that he tasked us to find any good native doctor that would assist us. It was then that Onuwa revealed that he knew a powerful one who is based in Aguleri , Anambra State. He told us that the rituals would involve human sacrifice. I told them that I was not interested in anything that involved the killing of a human being. I told them to go ahead, but that I would not take part in any killing.

“Onuwa said that we should use our uncle’s twins but I refused; then he suggested another old woman in our area, Nne Amaka, but I pleaded with him not to use her because she is very nice and generous.if you are passing by and beg her for water, she will give you water and even food. I never knew that he had made up his mind to kill our uncle’s twins until he came to my house later that day with their body parts.

“It is a village setting where brothers and family members build houses close to each other. We know ourselves, that was why the children trusted him. Immediately he finished, he came to my house and told me that he had finally killed our uncle’s children. I asked him to take the body parts and go before anyone would see him. I was panicking and came out to the compound to show solidarity so that no one would suspect me. It was then I heard Iweka’s younger brother telling everyone that it was Onuwa who took the twins and that he came earlier to their school to pick them but failed.

“Everyone started asking me where Onuwa was; they alleged that if he abducted those children, I must know something about it. That was why as soon as I got the opportunity, I ran away to Anambra. It was from Anambra that I sent a message to home directing them to where they would find the bodies because Onuwa told me where he butchered them. He also told me that he sold their hands for N2, 000 while he took the other parts to a herbalist in Aguleri, Anambra State. Now everyone has concluded I am the one who killed the twins. It is only Onuwa that will clear my name. My regret is that I should have informed my family when Onuwa suggested that we should use the twins for rituals. I loved the twins so much and their parents are nice people.

“I am begging my brothers to wait till Onuwa is arrested; then they will know that I was not in the bush when he killed them. The truth is that we wanted to be the youngest millionaires in town. I was hoping to make money; ride big cars and build houses. I wanted to become one of the youngest chiefs in my community. All of us who planned to do ritual had the same ambition because everyone knows that most of the young boys making waves and spending money anyhow did not work as hard as we did and now they are millionaires”.

A senior police officer told Cornerstonenews that they were on the trail of other people involved in the murder of the twins that are on the run.
