In a chat with Sports247, when being asked if the academy is still what it used to be and produce back in the years, the experienced gaffer stated that the academy are still very much in the theme, as it will continue to help discover various young football talents all across the state and help them with the basis of football.

“With 100 percent confidence, I can emphatically tell you that the Pepsi Football Academy you used to know is the same up till this moment. When we talk about Mikel Obi, Chinedu Ogbuke, and the rest, they all started from here (Pepsi Football Academy) and what gave them the edge when they got to the limelight is the basis of football, which we helped them to discover”.

“You know they say when a foundation is faulty, the building collapses. So the foundation is very important.
