Worst World Cup Outing! Nigeria Lose Three Games, No Points, Concede 28 Goals

Nigeria’s elimination from the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was confirmed on Tuesday following a 12-2 drubbing at the hands of defending champions Brazil in their final Group D game.

The Sand Eagles leave Paraguay without a point and conceded 28 goals, in the Country’s worst outing in the tournament.

It didn’t seem so from the kick off as the Eagles went toe to toe with the World’s best Beach Soccer Team inside the first period.

Brazil scored early, inside the 4th minute of the game and doubled two minutes later. But the deficit was halved before the end of the first period through Egan-Osi Ekujumi.

They picked up from where they left in the second period, by extending their lead in the 16th minute but Abu Azeez scored – only his second of the tournament – to reduce the deficit.

However, Audu Adamu’s ran out of steam and were trailing by two goals in the second period.

Brazil then went for the kill in the third period, showing their quality as they cranked it up and went on a goal scoring spree.

Rodrigo scored two more to add to his 16th minute goal and completed his hat-trick as Brazil put 8 past Danjuma Paul to run out comfortable winners and finish top of the group.
