Yobo lauds NFF over Eagles AFCON preparation

Former Super Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo has applauded the NFF for giving the Super Eagles a befitting preparation ahead of the forthcoming African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Yobo in a chat with brila.net affirmed that the efforts of the NFF is laudable and also shower praises on the NFF Boss for trying his best at motivating the players.

However, Coach Gernot Rohr’s continous style of downplaying title chances in Egypt did not go well with the former Everton Captain.

Yobo believes the Super Eagles have the quality to compete for the Championship in Egypt, and has urged the German tactician to set high targets for himself.

“I won it in 2013 with young players, even though I queried the coach then as a captain for bringing up inexperience and young lads,

“In the end, we won the tournament because we believe we can ”Yobo said.

The 2013 AFCON winning skipper urged Rohr to quit downplaying the abilities of the boys and should give them positive words that will make them do the impossible.

Nigeria will be competing in the AFCON Group B alongside Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea.
