Zidane to Chelsea? Former Madrid boss names three conditions for accepting Blues job

Former Real Madrid Manager Zinedine Zidane has been tipped to replace under-fire Maurizio Sarri, but only of his demands/conditions are met.

With Maurizio Sarri coming under huge fire at Chelsea recently, Zinedine Zidane is reportedly being lined up as the Italian’s possible successor. And according to the Sun, the Frenchman is considering the Stamford Bridge job.

However, the British tabloid writes that the World Cup winner has three conditions which the Blues must agree to before an agreement can be made. The first has everything to do with Eden Hazard.

The former Real Madrid boss demands the London giant to secure the Belgian ace’s future. Zidane is a known admirer of the former Lille sensation, having spoken highly of him during his time at the Real Madrid dugout.

At that time, the two were tipped to work together at the Bernabeu as Los Blancos is keen on signing the 28-year-old. However, Zizou has since left the Spanish capital and a move to London might just convince the contract rebel to remain at Chelsea.

Another demand from the French tactician is a huge transfer chest, $258M to be precise. Should the three-time Champions League-winning manager raise funds through selling players, then that figure must be increased.

The current crop of Chelsea players may have won the league title two seasons ago, but Zizou feels improvement is needed. One can easily deduce that a few names will be shown the door, but it remains unknown who would be overhauled.

Zidane’s final term is having a say in the club’s transfer dealing alongside Marina Granovskaia. This one could be tricky as the Blues director has locked horns with previous managers, namely Antonio Conte.

It should be noted that the 46-year-old isn’t yet planning for a Chelsea move as he feels Sarri’s job is still safe.

However, with Hazard and Co. taking on Man United in the FA Cup today and Man City in the Carabao Cup final next Sunday, things could change if the Blues suffer awful defeats.
