Theophilus Afelokhai has been handed his maiden Nigeria call-up after goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was ruled out for upcoming games against South Africa and Uganda.
On Monday, Spanish outfit Elche confirmed Uzoho will be sidelined for four weeks after suffering a fracture to the rib on the back of their heavy 5-1 defeat to Cadiz in Sunday’s Segunda encounter.
As a result, Gernot Rohr has extended a call-up to Afelokhai who was a bright spark in the People’s Elephants’ Caf Confederation Cup campaign.
