Etebo sees Red in Stoke City’s Championship win over Derby

Oghenekaro Etebo was sent off in Stoke City’s Championship home match against Derby on Wednesday, but had his blushes saved by Tom Ince whose goal helped the Potters pick all three points at the Britannia.

Etebo, who started the match in his 14th appearance was shown a straight red inside 33 minutes for a tackle on defender Richard Keogh.

The Potters took the lead on 24 minutes, only to go a man down just 9 minutes later. That numerical disadvantage wouldn’t bit them until the second half when the Rams leveled.

Harry Wilson scored the equalizer on 50 minutes, but 14 minutes later the home side restored their one goal lead as Sam Clucas set up Ince for what proved the match winner on 64 minutes.

If Stoke don’t appeal the Nigeria international’s sending of, he is due to serve a three-match suspension against Reading [A], Ipswich Town [H] and Aston Villa [A].
