Ezenwa’s move to Kastina United has collapsed

Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa ‘s move to ambitious Katsina United has crashed after he demanded to be paid 700,000 Naira a month.

A source close to the Eagles shot-stopper revealed Ezenwa was recently in Katsina to discuss the move with top club officials.

 

The goalkeeper is again a free agent following the end of his year’s deal at Enyimba.

 

As per ScoreNigeria, “Katsina United could not afford to pay him 700,000 Naira a month as salary. They say that is almost twice what their highest earners get,”

 

Ikechukwu Ezenwa began his football professional career with Ocean Boys F.C. before moved to Heartland F.C. in July 2008.

 

He moved to Ifeanyi Ubah in 2016. Contract End in 2017. He has then completed a move to Enyimba International F.C.

 

He was a member of the Nigeria U-23 at the 2008 Summer Olympics, featuring in the qualifier games. He got the call up to the Nigeria Super Eagles in 2015 under the authority of Coach Sunday Oliseh.

 

Following the injury of Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme he was called up to be part of the squad in the World cup and Nations cup qualifications by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr and given the number 1 jersey replacing Ikeme as first choice goalkeeper of the Super Eagles.

 

Kastina United are now believed to have shifted their attention to signing the Niger Republic No 1 goalkeeper Kassaly Daouda. Daouda has already arrived Katsina for a routine medical.
