Federal Capital Territory defeated Bayelsa State 1-0 in the final of the football event of the 19th National Sports Festival in Abuja on Friday.
Nasara Babe scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute to hand coach Bala Nikyu tutored Harmony boys the gold medal.
However, Bala Nikyu said his players performed well throughout the games and deserve all the accolades they are getting.
” I am happy and satisfied with being the best team in the competition. I still maintain that some of the best players I the country reside in Abuja.”. Said Nikyu said after the game.
The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area council Alhaji Abdullahi Candido was in the stand to see the final showered the sum of five hundred thousand naira on the team.
