Frank Lampard’s Derby County are set to confirm the signing of former Celtic and Super Eagles defender, Efe Ambrose according to a report published via TEAMtalk.
Ambrose has been a free agent since having his contract terminated at Scottish side, Hibernian last month and will be looking to find a new club as quickly as possible.
It was previously reported by the Daily Mail that Ambrose was attracting interest from relegation-threatened, Bolton Wanderers but a move didn’t materialize.
Steve Bruce’s Sheffield Wednesday were also thought to be in the race to sign the Nigerian international according to TEAMtalk.
But they have since revealed that Ambrose is set to choose Derby as his next destination, and he’ll be hoping to play his part in their promotion push this season.
The Rams are currently sat 7th in the Championship table, and are only out of the play-off positions on goal difference.
