2018 Ahlan Cup: Kano Pillars too strong for Katsina United

Two goals from Auwalu Ali Mallam was enough for Kano Pillars to beat Katsina United 2-0 at the ongoing 201 8 Ahlan Cup in Kano on Tuesday afternoon.

It was a closely contested game in the first half as both teams was on unable to break the deadlock.

 

Pillars finished the first 45 minutes strongly and could have gone ahead had Mallam Ali, Rabiu Ali and Chris Madaki buried the clear-cut chances that came their way.

 

The second began with Pillars still having more of the ball and creating more chances but find a way through until Chinedu Ajana was sent off for Katsina United in the 53rd minutes.

 

Coach Kabiru Baleria side immediately made their numerical advantage count as they scored a minute after Katsina United was reduced to ten men.

 

Auwalu Mallam scored his second of the game moments later after he connected with a superb pass from Rabiu Ali.

 

The game is a good test for Pillars who has new signing Bature Yaro on the bench.
