Henry denies holding talks to become Egypt Manager

Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry has denied holding talks with any national association or football club over becoming their next manager.

Former Al Ahly and Zamalek goalkeeper Nader El-Sayed earlier claimed negotiations with Henry’s agent over the vacant Egypt national team job is on.

However, Henry, who worked as an assistant to Belgium manager Roberto Martinez during the 2018 World Cup, released a statement via Twitter on Thursday, where he denied speaking with any national association or football club team over becoming their next manager.

“Since announcing my decision to leave my full-time role in broadcasting to pursue my ambition of becoming a manager, I have subsequently been linked with a number of positions both domestically and internationally.

“Contrary to misleading reports people may have read at this moment neither myself nor my advisers have held any discussions with any club or national association.

My intention has always been to be patient and I will take my decision in good time,” the statement read.

The vacant Egypt position has already been filled by Mexican manager Javier Aguirre, the former Mexico, and Japan manager.
