Egypt stars Mo Salah and Ahmed Hegazi out of Nigeria friendly

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will miss Egypt’s friendly clash with Nigeria. The Pharaons will take on Nigeria in a friendly match in March.

The vice-president of Egypt football body Ahmed Shobier has claimed Salah won’t be invited to these matches.

“Mohamed Salah will not play the Niger game in the AFCON qualifiers or the Nigeria friendly,” Shobier said. “[West Bromwich defender] Ahmed Hegazi will probably also be left out of the squad.”

Mo’s presence is not necessary indeed, as the Pharaons have already qualified for 2019 AFCON and their match against the Niger Republic will be the last in the qualifying campaign.

Salah has scored 4 goals for Egypt in the qualifiers and his absence will most likely boost Liverpool’s campaigns in the Premier League and the Champions League.
