Nigeria lost the hosting rights for the 18th edition of the Africa Zone III Karate Championships to Ivory Coast in a political coup, National Karate Head Coach Shihan Mavie told brila.net
Mavie insists Ivory Coast “hijacked” the rights to host the championship from Nigeria.
He alleged there was a cahoot between Ivory Coast, the regional governing body and the continental governing body, although Lagos had been designated to host the event.
The Karate championships was billed to hold between between 12th-19th May, 2019 at the Teslim Balogun Sports Hall.
