One to Remember! Mikel Obi celebrates 2nd Goal in 267th Appearance

A loose ball falls gracefully to him unmarked inside the box and he accepted the invitation, striking it with much venom past a heap of bodies into the top of the net!

His second English league football goal and though it wasn’t enough to see Middlesbrough climb into the playoff spot, Mikel Obi insists it is one “to remember”.

Mikel led Boro, as Captain for the last time this season, but their bid to bid to reach the EFL Championship playoff failed on the last day.

“We knew coming into the game it wasn’t in our hands,” he told the club’s official website.

“We had a job to do and that was win the game, and see what happens. The other results didn’t go our way but it will be a goal to remember for me.

“The fans have been fantastic with me and I think we deserve to be in the Play-Offs.

“But it’s a big club and I’m sure Boro will bounce back next year.”
