Akwa United unshaken on league title charge despite opening day draw – Udoh

Akwa United forward Mfon Udoh has stated that the Promise Keepers are still very much on course for a Premier league charge despite playing out a 2-2 draw in their first game at the ongoing Super six tournament in Lagos.

Udoh speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the team is not happy to have started it Super six campaign with a  draw because they wanted an outright win but glad result elsewhere was still okay for them to chase and mount a sustain NPFL title challenge.
“We are very grateful to God for the draw but we would have done better, so it is not good enough because it was a game we should have won but better to taste defeat.
“We urge the fans to keep believing and we are not going to disappoint them.”
Akwa United next face FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Thursday matchday 2 and will hope to compound the woes of the Anambra warriors.
