Mikel Obi is a legend and a great passer that any striker will be lucky to have play with says Odion Ighalo.
Odion who is expected to the lead the Super Eagles attack line at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, welcomed the news off Mikel’s return to the team after a year’s absence.
In an interview published on the Super Eagles official Youtube account, the striker who finished as top scorer in the AFCON 2019 qualifiers praised the impact of the returnee Captain.
“He’s our captain, He’s a good leader it’s great to have him back. The motivation he brings to the team; he’s top.
“He didn’t play all the qualifiers, we did well without him but him joining us now is a big plus because any team that wants to play against Nigeria will feel a bit jittery because he has done great for both club and country.
“He’s a legend and he can play, He’s still fresh and he’s still doing what he knows how to do best; it’s a big plus for us.
“He’s a good passer of the ball which every striker will be happy to have in their side, so for me personally, I’m really happy he’s back and hopefully we can achieve what we want to achieve together by God’s grace.”
