Former Nigeria international Friday Ekpo has urged Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to be more daring and start looking more inwardly to the league to identify players who could make their mark in the national team moving forward after the performance of his retinue of foreign based professionals.
Ekpo speaking in a chat with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comon way forward for the Super Eagles team after the just concluded AFCON said the case of Madagascar who had quite a number of home based players at the just concluded AFCON and even recorded a win against Nigeria speaks volume of what home based players can bring to the team.
“The coach should begin to come home and look inwardly now. We have good professional players in the league. The Madagascar team that defeated us (Nigeria) had quite a good number of players as home based but they defeated our professionals.”
