Dogo Kabiru Open To Sunshine Stars Exit

Head coach of Sunshine Stars of Akure, Kabiru Dogo says he is yet to reach an agreement with the Akure-based side for a new deal ahead of the 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Dogo joined the Owena Waves last year, after ending his five years association with Nasarawa United,  where he made name for himself.

Dogo told the press that the club’s management led by Tajudeen Akinyemi are yet to meet his demands, but the former coach of ABS FC of Ilorin is optimistic that both parties will do everything humanly possible to get the deal over the line, for him to remain at the club.

“However, I am not ruling out looking elsewhere if the deal failed to click,’’ he said.

“I also appreciate the Sunshine Stars’ management, as well as the sports-loving people of the state.

“Going forward, we are expecting that everything will go as planned for us to have a successful new season. I’m positive about that.

“We should have a better working environment with smooth working conditions, more than what we have last season, for us to take the team to a greater level.

“That’s how I think we can achieve success together. But, if we can’t, we have to move on.

“I, therefore, solicit for more to coach Sunshine Stars in the new season,” Dogo who took Sunshine Stars to an eighth-place finish in Group A of the abridged 2018/2019 NPFL season said.

The gaffer also confirmed that he’s in talks with another NPFL club ahead of next season.
