Current D’Tigers Team Are The Best Ever From Africa – Kida

NBBF President Musa Kida has advised Nigerians to look at the bigger picture as the D’Tigers continue their search for their first FIBA World Cup win.

With what the team has achieved in the last 2 years and the talented players in the team, he believes the future is bright.

D’Tigers returned to the FIBA World Cup in 2019 after 13 years absence and lost their first game to Russia 78-82 on Saturday, before going down 81-97 on Monday.

Reacting to the results, Kida said he’s satisfied with the performance of the team and insists they can get one over the Koreans in their game.

“We have a team that has come out of Africa as the best ever, you can ask the secretary general for the FIBA Africa or the former President FIBA Africa who are very convinced of the team’s performance”.

“Infact you can see that for all the matches we lost, it was keenly competitive and it was not like other matches where they blow you away with 20, 30, 40 points and teams wearing jersies take pictures and go home “.

“They have seen that this team that we have , though a young team and are the best that ever come out of Africa”.

“Some of them are giving us the benefits of coming to the World Cup after thirteen years of absence, also rebuilding the experience they should have had and knowing fully well that they will perform better “.

“Im quite happy, especially the match against Argentina and going forward it can only get better “.

I’m satisfied with the team, they quality of play and like I always tell Nigerians , it’s a new team and I’m satisfied with their performance”.
