Villarreal trounce Leganes on Awaziem’s debut, no show for Omeruo, Chukwueze

Samuel Chukwueze was an unused substitute on Saturday as Villarreal ran away 3-0 winners against CD Leganes at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

The youngster, who was on international duty with Nigeria, cheered on from the bench as his team picked up their first league win of the season.

 

Javier Calleja Revilla’s men compounded Leganes’ woes inflicting a fourth successive defeat on the home team.

 

Leganes were without Kenneth Omeruo, but Chidozie Awaziem made his debut and was was on for 90 minutes.

 

Gerard Moreno scored a brace (26′, 90+3′), his goals coming either side of Jonathan Silva’s owngoal (39′).
