Former Super Eagles defender Emeka Ezeugo has told www.Cornerstonenewsng.comthat the state of the “beautiful game” in Nigeria is “dead”.
Ezeugo, who played 11 times for Nigeria, insists football in the Country needs resuscitation and urgent fixing to curb the “rot”.
“The beautiful game in Nigeria is dead and we should be worried about fixing Nigerian football,” He said.
Concerning Nigeria’s international friendly against Brazil later this month, Ezeugo remained critical of the Football Federation.
He stressed the need to play down on the importance of exhibition games, when the “domestic league” has been off for over 150 days and a new season kick off date is uncertain.
“We shouldn’t be celebrating playing friendlies, it could sound extreme, but what pleasure do you get from that when the NPFL is on the longest break without a tenable kick off date?”
