Super Eagles chief Coach joins Rangers as “Technical Assistant” for Confederation Cup

Salisu Yusuf will be in the dugout on Sunday when Ranger Int’l FC host Egypt’s Pyramids in Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Yusuf, who served a one-year ban for receiving cash inducement to select players in 2018, was deployed by his employers, NFF, to help the NPFL side in a “technical capacity”.

Speaking with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comon Wednesday where he saw the team train, the Super Eagles chief Coach disclosed his role with the team.

“Am here as the Technical assistant because the team is representing Nigeria in a CAF Club competition.

“The circumstances of the club led to the NFF drafting me here.”

Speaking about his plans for the team and expectations for Sunday’s game, the 57 year-old said, “Am always positive about situations like this, I want to take them to the next level.

“I know it’s going to be difficult, but we don’t intend to make much changes just a few technical inputs.

“We hope for a good result on Sunday. The time is too short to make wholesome changes but we could look at areas where we can improve the team.”
