FPRO elevated to ACP as PSC
Finally ,Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO),Moshood Jimo has been elevated from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP)
to the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has on Tuesday, elevated some officers among who were former Lagos State Police image
maker, now PSO 2 ,Bode Ojajuni and all the officers who were involved in the arrest of most wanted suspected kidnapper popularly known as Evans.
However, the leader of the police unit that arrested Evans,ACP Abba Kyari ,was denied promotion. A source at PSC ,said Kyari was denied
promotion ,not because ,he did not merit it ,but that he had been favoured two time with promotions recently.
The source hinted that Kyari was a Superintendent of Police when he took over as the officer in charge of the Inspector-General of Police
IGP Intelligence Team(IRT) and he was promoted twice, from SP to Chief Superintendent Of Police (CSP) to ACP.But, a senior police
officer who craved anonymity said the force decided to give special promotion to those who arrested Evans,as Kyari was the leader
of the team,he should have benefitted from the gesture. The senior police officer said what the PSC did was very unprofessional and carlous.
The PSC source said initially Jimoh’s name was not in the list of this to benefit from the promotion until some powerful people
in Aso Rock, compelled PSC to promote him to ACP ,to enable him fit him to the office that he is occupying. The IGP .Ibrahim Idris ,
had written to PSC to promote Kyari and Jimoh who he described as the pride of the force, but,Kyari who has been doing exploits in
the fight against kidnapping and armed robbery has been denied promotion
